Open Student Workshop on Global Priorities Research (OSW-GPR)
26-29 June 2022, Oxford University
Please note the deadline for applications to attend this workshop has been extended to 23 April 2022 (midnight UK time).
About this workshop
The Open Student Workshop on Global Priorities Research (OSW-GPR) aims to help students from traditionally underrepresented groups learn about global priorities research, develop their research ideas, and equip them with the information and networks needed to succeed as global priorities researchers.
Participants in this four-day workshop will attend the 10th Oxford Workshop on Global Priorities Research (27-28 June 2022), an interdisciplinary workshop on global priorities research organised by the Global Priorities Institute. They will also receive personalised 1:1 career- and research-coaching from GPI staff members and other members of the global priorities research community; attend presentations and discussions on global priorities research, career planning and experiences in academic research; and receive networking and social opportunities throughout.
The cost of (domestic or international) travel and accommodation in Oxford, UK will be fully covered for all participants, and meals will be provided. Costs for visa applications will also be covered for participants that require a visa to enter the UK.
Workshop location and dates
Sunday 26 June till Wednesday 29 June 2022. Oxford, UK.

We invite applications from members of a range of traditionally underrepresented groups in global priorities research, to include (but not limited to) people who identify as female, students of colour, first-generation students, LGBTQIA+ students, members of economically disadvantaged communities, people from the Global South, and people with disabilities.
Many of our applicants will be graduate students in economics or philosophy. We are open to applications from exceptional late-stage undergraduates as well as from recent PhD recipients. The workshop is being financially supported by the Centre for Effective Altruism.
